Ultimate Rivals is a 3V3 ice hockey game that has received official authorization from the NHL, as well as partial licensing from the NBA, NLB, and other leagues. Players can collect various athletes and form their own three-player ice hockey teams to compete in fast-paced, exciting matches.
The game has a quick pace, with each match typically lasting between three to five minutes. To enhance the thrill, the game features an "Ultimate Skill" system. Players can charge up their ultimate skills by hitting opponents and collecting fragments that drop on the ground. Each athlete has a unique ultimate skill, ranging from physical attacks that charge toward opponents to magical abilities like blizzards that freeze nearby enemies.
In ice hockey, players are allowed to attack their opponents, and Ultimate Rivals incorporates this feature. Players can attack opponents using charged shots, stick checks, and other techniques to reduce their health. For example, when a goalkeeper’s health drops to zero, their ability to defend is greatly diminished, making it harder to block incoming shots.
