In Daggerhood, players take on the role of a nimble thief embarking on an adventure to steal the king’s gold. The controls are simple, requiring only the left and right directional keys along with the A and B buttons. Pressing A allows you to jump, with support for double jumps and wall jumps, enabling smooth traversal through complex terrain.
Pressing the B button throws a dagger, and pressing B again teleports you instantly to where the dagger lands. The dagger can also be used to defeat enemies. Each level contains five treasures to collect, and the faster you complete the stage, the higher your star rating will be. You can replay levels as many times as you like to achieve full collection goals.
In addition to the treasures, there is a small fairy hidden in each level. It disappears shortly after the level begins, so you’ll need to act quickly to find and catch it. Capturing the fairy unlocks hidden stages. During your run, you may also find special power-ups that temporarily enhance your dagger’s abilities, allowing you to overcome otherwise impassable obstacles.
Daggerhood isn’t particularly difficult if you’re just aiming to beat every stage. However, if you're going for 100% completion and top ratings, you'll need to practice, master your timing, and make clever use of the dagger’s mechanics.
