Karui ToDo Experience: The Simplest New Choice for To-Do Lists

Source: Internet / May 15, 2025

After trying out too many task management apps, I gradually got tired of constantly tapping on my phone for all those small tasks, adding various task details one by one. There are more and more apps like this, and most of them just ended up gathering dust somewhere on my screen. Then I accidentally discovered Karui ToDo, and its somewhat quirky interface immediately caught my attention.

At first glance, the icon makes you think it’s a "four-quadrant" task management app, but after downloading it, I found its design quite interesting. The main screen features two input boxes arranged vertically, one large and one small, which is its core concept — divided management. The upper input box, called "Box 1," is mainly used for quickly entering notes or to-do items, and there’s a counter below that shows the current number of items. The lower "Box 2" is a list of notes where you can check the number of notes or to-dos in different categories.

When you open the settings, you’ll see several boxes listed from top to bottom. "Box 3" is for appearance settings; Karui ToDo offers many themes and font options, and you can also adjust the font size here. "Box 4" provides interface instructions that explain how to use the app — it’s worth reading carefully. This is where I realized that although Karui ToDo looks simple, it actually has quite rich functionality. "Box 5" shows deleted items, allowing you to quickly restore or permanently clear them. The last box, "Box 6," supports exporting and importing content.

Back on the main screen, if you want to add a note or to-do, just type it into the input box and press Enter. The item will immediately appear in the list below. You can click an item to mark it as completed, or click the "d" at the end of the item to delete it.

Don’t forget what was mentioned on the about page: if you just keep adding items to the list, your tasks will quickly become a mess. By typing \\\+ followed by some text in the input box, you can quickly create categories. When you need to remove a category, just type /// and it’s done. I’m also looking forward to the developer adding more practical features like this in the future.

If you’re interested in Karui ToDo, you can download and try it from Vipdown. The app is open source and completely free.
