Facemoji: It's Time to Replace Mosaic with Emojis

In many situations, when sharing photos, we often cover faces with a mosaic. However, using a mosaic can seem too serious and dull, and may even be misunderstood. So why not try something more fun and dynamic, like emoji expressions? To make this possible, renowned developer Steve Maary quickly launched the app Facemoji.

Of course, if you just want to cover a face with an emoji, your phone’s built-in photo editing tool can easily do that. But Facemoji goes a step further. It comes with a face detection algorithm that can quickly recognize every face in a photo and automatically place an emoji on the corresponding area. Even better, Facemoji adjusts the emoji’s size and rotation angle based on the facial expression, making it blend more naturally with the photo.

Facemoji also allows you to customize your emoji list. By default, it uses the emojis from your phone's built-in emoji library, but you can freely add or remove emojis by tapping the settings button at the bottom of the screen. Facemoji will then randomly choose from your updated list. If you’re not fond of the default emojis, you can also download other emoji font libraries and import them into the app.

Additionally, Facemoji offers customization options. If it fails to detect a face or if you want to replace an already added emoji, you can select a new emoji from the list below the preview image, or click the plus sign to add a new emoji. However, the emoji you want to change must already be defined in the emoji list.

If you need to cover faces but don’t want to use a mosaic, you can go to Vipdown to download Facemoji for free and experience a more creative way to obscure faces.
