What's the most essential feature on your phone? For me, it's not making calls, sending texts, or browsing WeChat or Weibo—it's the clock. While the default clock app on my phone is fairly complete, there are times when it just doesn't cut it. For example, I need precise timing down to the second during flash sales, or I need a more aggressive way to wake me up. That's when a third-party clock app like Chrono could be the replacement you need, helping you say goodbye to your old system clock.

Chrono fully adopts the Material You design style and supports dynamic color extraction, which feels particularly native on Android 13 and above. Considering that many manufacturers modify the system UI style, Chrono also offers a helpful customization option for button and card shapes in the settings, making the overall UI more consistent with your system's look. Additionally, you can tweak Chrono's animation effects in the settings, such as adjusting animation duration or enabling extra effects, all to match your personal preferences.

In terms of features, Chrono offers the same core functions as other similar apps, including alarms, world time, countdowns, and stopwatches. However, the design details of each function set it apart, providing a unique user experience compared to traditional clock apps.
For instance, when setting an alarm, Chrono offers a task mode to ensure you won't oversleep. In this mode, you need to solve a math problem, transcribe a sentence, or enter a correct number sequence from memory to stop the alarm. Plus, each task mode's difficulty can be customized. As for the timer feature, in addition to standard segment timing, Chrono can also track the fastest, slowest, and average times in real-time. Both of these features also offer multiple filtering and sorting options, so you won't have to worry about getting lost among too many projects.

The only downside is that Chrono currently doesn't offer a desktop widget, so it can't fully replace your main clock app just yet.
